Students in my first year Foundation Drawing courses executed the following drawings. They are grouped into galleries echoing the three primary units covered over the course of two semesters: Line, Value, and Figure. These units reflect general technical and conceptual points of emphasis and are ordered in a roughly sequential manner. It is important to note however that these divisions are simplifications for the sake of instructional clarity, and that in studio classroom practice there is continual overlap of linear, tonal, and figurative concepts.
